The Last 20 Years of Popular Music, Categorized

As seen in the video "No, not all popular music sounds the same," this spreadsheet takes Billboard's top 25 singles from every year from 2000 - 2018 and categorizes them by Energy, Mood, Tempo, Style, Genre, and Sub-Genre. In addition, certain songs are also categorized by topics I stopped using as the spreadsheet developed, such as the topic of the song and the type of instrumentation (acoustic / electronic) used. For those lacking Microsoft Excel, a .csv file has been provided alongside a standard Excel .xlsx. The .csv can be opened in Open Office's Excel equivalent and Apple's Excel equivalent "Numbers." 

In addition, a pivot table is present in the spreadsheet such that the data can be sliced and visualized as was carried out in the video above. For your convenience, a preview video discussing the use of the pivot table to work with the data has been provided! 

Please note: pivot table functionality is not available in the .csv file.
